The Beautiful and Misunderstood
Senior  Thesis Collection
07–15–24
This collection is about the intangible feeling of female rage which stems from misogyny being engrained in our culture, objectification, and women being villainized or portrayed as unstable for having emotions.

The Blood is On Your Hands
Personal Wo Collection
07–16–24
This collection represents that we are not to blame for others’ abuse or the consequences of it, being empowered by our clothing, bodies, and emotions. The white leather signifies the strength and durability that can come without malicious intent and violence or, “blood on your hands.” These looks at their core represent the balance that comes from a juxtaposition of elements: peace and chaos, “delicate girlhood” and “power dressing”, and finally, embracing our emotions with a sense of fearlessness. If fashion could be anything, it should be the supporting role to our natural forms.

Seascape
Parsons Concept Collection II
07–17–24
This collection is inspired by my safehaven, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. The island has a unique significance for African-Americans, a small corner of New England where the social climate is unlike many places in America, and empowers black people and their successes. Seascape is about personal escape and recluse but also healing via the preseence of nature in times of crisis and becoming energetically revived. Other influences I drew from are mermaid legends, the fishing industry on the island, and the naturally vibrant colors of everything from the sand, the clay cliffs of Aquinnah, and the aqua blue ocean.

Nostalgic Reciprocation
Parsons Concept Collection I

04–23–24
Prompted to choose a 5$ book from The Strand Bookstore in NYC, I was inspired by a book about beautiful club bathroom design around the world that featured beautiful tiled prints. The themes in this collection are returning to first loves,  a person and a place (a city), so familiar that they feel like coming home.

Biotic Wonders
Personal Collection
04–23–24
Biotic Wonders is a love letter to natural elements and organic patterns, as well as a dedication to nature’s design language in response to global climate change and a contemporary rendering of our roots.  In these pieces, i was inspired by the relationship between Dionysian and Apollonian characteristics, the balance between order and chaos that is always present in the natural world. The materials are hand-dyed and upcycled and the baskets are hand woven and dyed by my self.

Blockchain of Love
Proin Nec Viverra Purus
04–27–24
Inspired by the likes of Mortal Kombat and the video game world of 1v1 combat. As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, we have taken this concept and created a game that applies to love, how the punches thrown and moves made reflect the same way people engage with one another in relationships; with tact and thoughtful manipulation of the opponents’ strengths and weaknesses. Playful yet important, we wanted to immerse our audience in this gaming world.
